Genesis 2:1-3

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing;
so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy,
because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Dear friend, welcome to “Thinking in the Truth”. Today, I want to share with you God’s Word in Genesis 2:1-3. May we grow together in the Truth.

In the previous “Thinking in the Truth”- Genesis 1:1-31, I shared with you God’s creation of the earth on the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth day. On the first day, God created light to end darkness, empty and formless on the earth. The earth started with day and night. On the second day, God separated water from water and made the sky. On the third day, God created the land, seas and various plants and trees. On the fourth day, God created two great lights and stars. On the fifth day, God created the living creatures in the water, birds. On the sixth day, God created livestock, wild animals, creatures that move along the ground and human beings.

Now, I am going to share God’s Word regarding the seventh day and its holiness.

  1. God’s creation was completed once human beings were created. It tells us that God’s creation on earth had peaked when the creation of human beings was completed. God blessed human beings to have meaningful, joyful, and peaceful lives, and to rest on the seventh day.
  2. On the seventh day, God rested in completed satisfaction, ultimate joy, and perfect peace. Remembering the previous Scripture, it is written that God evaluated his creation each time and he was satisfied with all his creations, saying: “It is good”. But, after human beings were created, He praised the harmonious creation and whole perfect picture of creation and said “it is very good”. From the first day to now, we can imagine that God is amazing and is wonderful and lovely God. He is our Father who is holy, perfect, full of wisdom, imagination and arts. He is almighty and sovereign God; He is the ultimate scientist, engineer and artist; He is caring, loving, and kind Father. There are not enough words of praise to describe how beautiful and wonderful He is. He is too great to be described in words. His holy richness and beauties surpass the universe - the universe created by his everlasting love.
  3. God made the seventh day Holy and blessed it. It tells us that the seventh day is a holy day for human beings and reminds us that the seventh day was set for us by God as a holy day to let us remember and praise His creations forever, work with God, and to always be intimate with him to maintain the beautiful earth. As long as we keep the seventh holy day in our hearts, we know our heavenly Father and can appreciate him for all His provisions, so that we may have eternal blessings from our heavenly Father.

    The seventh day is a very special day, the day of thanksgiving. May you come to him on this holy day to worship him, thank him, receive His heavenly blessings which cannot be given by the world nor be taken away from you by the world, and rest in God’s peaceful and loving arms.

God is Love (1 John 4:16)
